We are delighted to welcome Dr. Mohammad A. Alhejji to the Hon Hai Quantum Computing Research Center (HHQC)!

Mohammad received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, and holds an M.S. in Physics as well as a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics (Magna cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on quantum Shannon theory, matrix analysis, convex optimization, and fundamental problems concerning quantum channels and entropies.

Prior to joining us, Mohammad has accumulated extensive research experience in quantum information and theoretical physics:

  • Academic Rigor at Leading Institutions: During his Ph.D. studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, he was affiliated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and JILA, working under the supervision of Emanuel Knill and Graeme Smith on quantum channels and entropic quantities.

  • Advanced Research Experience: He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow within the Focused Research Hub in Theoretical Physics (FRHTP) at the Center for Quantum Information and Control (CQUIC), University of New Mexico, contributing to frontier developments in theoretical quantum information.

  • Impactful Research Contributions: He has co-authored notable studies published in premier journals such as Nature, Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Communications in Mathematical Physics, and IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. His work covers traceable random number generation from nonlocal quantum advantage, device-independent randomness expansion, multiple-access channel games, and refining Ky Fan's majorization relations via linear programming.

We look forward to leveraging Mohammad’s expertise in quantum Shannon theory, mathematical optimization, and quantum information bounds to further strengthen our research initiatives and advance the frontiers of quantum computing.

Welcome Mohammad to our research team!
